The founders of Gamium have all been fans of video games for many years. And we all know of the frustration of standing at a game shop, holding an awesome looking game, and wondering... is this game fun? Will I like it? Is it worth $50?

Many of us were lucky enough to be nearby a small game shop, one where real gamers would actually hang out. The kind of people who had already played every game on the rack. They might not be able to tell you WHY a game was fun, or what the polygon count was, or if the game had Dolby 5.1 surround sound, but they always gave the best advice:

They'd tell you if the game was fun.

But not every person in the shop was useful to you. Bob over there liked First Person Shooters, and had mastered every one since Castle Wolfenstien. Alice has played every RPG since Legend of Zelda. And Charlie was a puzzle game aficionado. Eventually you would come to learn who had the best grasps of which genres, and who liked the type of games you liked. And you could walk over with Circlesoft's latest game Super Import Panic Blaster and get a quick review of the game, and decide if it was worth it.

That's what Gamium is. It's a shop full of actual, real, honest to God game players. None of the staff is a professional game reviewer, just guys and gals who like games. When you read our reviews, you won't get three pages of nit picky drivel about map optimization or game industry biz talk. You'll find out what you need to know.

Is the game fun?

To make the game shop atmosphere even that much stronger, all users who sign up are allowed to post their own Gamium reviews! While the staff are here to keep the pump primed with top notch review material, we also realize that the gaming landscape is huge, and our outlook tends to be a bit narrow.
