Welcome to Gamium Version 2! It's been a long time coming since the initial beta of Gamium and the rollout of Gamium 1. We're proud to announce Gamium Version 2!

Gamium Version 2 runs on the excellent [url=http://www.drupal.org]Drupal 6[/url] core, with a whole slew of modules giving us all kinds of functionality to help bring you the absolute best game reviews on the net.

All of the reviews from the previous version of Gamium have been moved over; alas, the comments did not survive the switchover.

So, what can we expect in the new Gamium? What are some of the features that users will find useful?

Well, for one thing, reviews are now available in the menu system sorted by score and the staff reviewer who wrote the review. All user submitted reviews now show up on the [url=http://gamium.org/userReviews]User Submitted Review[/url]. Well written and useful reviews may be promoted into the main display on the front page by all site Editors!

The core code is much tighter which should make for a more snappy experience.

Also, we have a completely new theme for the site, something a little more gamer-friendly, something a little more snazzy, something with a little more zing!

We've also partnered with Project Wonderful to operate the ad box at the top right hand corner of the site. This ad box allows anyone to advertise on our site simply by clicking on the link and placing a bid! If there's an ad slot available for your price, you're in! If there's a slot cheaper, you pay the cheaper price. It's win/win for everyone!

We've also got a bit more extensive User Page, with a "tracker" tab that allows you to see all reviews posted by each and every user!

As soon as you sign up, you're authorized to post comments even before you've verified your email. This hopefully will make it easier for people to join the discussion. However, you still have to verify your email address before you can post reviews.*

And, finally, a feature I'm really excited about: we now support OpenIDs! Once you've created an account, you can register your OpenID server with Gamium and log in with your OpenID. I use it; it's fast and convenient for people who don't want to memorize a million different passwords!

I hope you guys enjoy using Gamium 2 as much as I've enjoyed developing it. This site is for you, the community of Gamers who want a place with real world reviews by real honest-to-final-boss gamers.
