Peggle Extreme

Peggle? Really? Oh yes.

Peggle makes a tribute to Valve's Source games (except for Left4Dead, which is understandable when you factor in development time) in a fun to play, thirty minute package of greatness.

Oh and did I mention it's free?

It's very rarely that I actually pay attention to the Steam News page. I generally click through them like a couch potato dutifully sitting through a commercial break. But this "Peggle Extreme" thing caught my eye, not the least bit because it was free!

So apparently the guys behind Peggle decided to make a tribute to Valve games. Various maps inside Peggle Extreme have backgrounds inspired by Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, and Portal, with my favorite map being "Too Many Portals."

The levels are short but fun, with the whole experience weighing in at about 30 minutes. The voice clips used for success and failure come from the game being tributed at, and the background images are quite humorous (the Heavy Weapons Unicorn being one of my favorites).

It's free, it's light weight so it will download in minutes, and its fun and addicting.

Why haven't you downloaded it yet?
